A full day trip to visit the Colca Canyon, this is the best way when you don’t have a lot of time in Arequipa. Enjoy one of the deepest canyons in the world with its nice and happy local people.
Note: it is very important to reserve in advance, because normally the capacity of passengers in the bus is limited for this tour. Of course you can ask for a private transportation service.

We continue driving for 2 more hours towards the most visited point “the cross of the condor”, here we are able to see the depth of the canyon and the flight of the mighty Condor.
The area presents beautiful typical towns, like Yanque & Maca, colonial churches, gently people with typical needlework dresses, hundreds of pre-Inca terraces which are still in use with andean growings like corn, quinua and kiwicha.
Back in Chivay at noon there is an optional visit to the Calera hot springs, temperature water of 38 C. Grades.
After lunch we will travel back to Arequipa. On the way we stop at the highest pass: the viewing point of the volcanoes and snow covered mountains in Patapampa (4.800 m.a.s.l). Later we will see wild vicuñas, alpacas & llamas in Pampa Cañahuas national reserve, some birds like flamingoes, ibises, andean geese, ducks and andean eagles named “Kara Kara”. Finally we will arrive in Arequipa at the end of the afternoon (arrival approximately at 17:00).
