Itinerary

Day 01: Cusco – Pilcopata

We leave Cusco early by bus and travel through Andean mountains, beautiful landscapes, rural folk communities such as Paucartambo and Ninamaraca (chullpas or funerary tombs) that belong to the pre-Inca LUPACAS culture. Then climb the last mountain to reach Acjanaco, entrance to the MANU NATIONAL PARK, from where we descend to the leafy cloud forest, which houses a great variety of flora and fauna. Being an ideal place for epiphytes, orchids, broméelas, etc.
Then walk inside the cloud forest and appreciate the National bird of Peru. The colorful Cock of the Rocks in their dance ritual of mating, as well as toucans, trogons, quetzales, monkeys and with luck the spectacled bear of South America (Tremantus ornatos), continuing our journey towards the valley of Kcosñipata to spend our first night.
It is the most moving place for the sighting of wild flora and fauna of the Amazon. Then we will go through the virgin forest in the direction of the most famous lake of the Manu, Lake Salvador or Cocha Salvador, to travel on a catamaran that will make it possible to find a great variety of birds, monkeys, black caimans and with luck the river wolf or Giant otter (Pteronura Brasiliensis). Endangered species are seen in their greatest time of day swimming, fishing, eating and playing among them.
After a great lunch typical of the area, we sailed for a short time along the Manu River and walked for another 4 hours, through the forest towards the second most important lake of the Manu called Otorongo and we located in the observation tower of 25 meters high to see the giant emerging trees of cedar, mahogany ceiba and the famous rubber or rubber trees. This being home to many mammals that are occasionally found as capuchin monkeys, spider monkeys and wild pigs or pecars; At night we can explore the forest using our good lanterns or lamps where we will find a great variety of insects, toads, frogs or we will see the lake in search of some nocturnal creature like the colorful eyes of alligators, etc. Return overnight.

Day 05: Alberge Casa Matsiguenka – Yanayacu Lodge

This day we will descend slowly the currents of the impressive river Manu, to stop in Boca Manu and enjoy some cold or cold drinks to continue our journey against the high Madre de Dios river for 3 hours, giving us the greatest opportunity to see some Migratory birds like Osprey, hawks, jabirú, pink spatula, etc. And at nightfall we will camp on an appropriate beach on the Madre de Dios River.

Day 06: Yanayacu – Pilcopata

Again in the morning after a delicious breakfast we return in our comfortable boat, trying to fish and enjoying the magnificent views of the Andes, as the hot springs where we can enjoy lunch. Arrival at the port of Atalaya, where our bus will be waiting to take us to Pilcopata. Overnight last night.

Day 07: Pilcopata – Cusco

Very early in the bus back, again appreciate the famous cock of the rocks in San Pedro, where breakfast and continue our return to the ancient capital of the Incas, CUSCO AND ARRIVAL AT 4:00 PM.
